Volunteer Opportunities – Autumn 2026
Help inspire the next generation by sharing your career journey.
Every year, hundreds of business professionals volunteer with Proactive Young People to help students develop confidence, employability skills and a better understanding of the world of work.
Whether you have volunteered before or are joining us for the first time, your experience can have a lasting impact on a young person's future. Below are our upcoming opportunities.

Shenley Brook End School – Milton Keynes
Year 11 Speed Interviewing
🕘 9:00am – 12:30pm
Meet our Year 11 students in a fast-paced, enjoyable Speed Interviewing event. Students rotate around business volunteers every few minutes, asking questions about careers, apprenticeships, university, the skills employers value and what your typical working day looks like.
This event is designed to build confidence, improve communication skills and help students understand the wide variety of career opportunities available to them.
Volunteer role
- Speak to small groups of students throughout the morning
- Share your career journey and experiences
- Encourage students to ask questions
- Inspire confidence and ambition
No preparation is required.

Magdalen College School - Brackley
Careers Fair
Years 10, 11 & Sixth Form
🕚 11:00am – 3:00pm
Our Careers Fair brings together employers, apprenticeship providers, colleges and universities under one roof, allowing students to explore future opportunities and begin making informed career decisions.
Students will visit your stand throughout the day to discuss career pathways, entry requirements, apprenticeships, graduate schemes, work experience and the skills your industry values.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your organisation whilst helping young people understand the opportunities available within your sector.

The Hazeley Academy – Milton Keynes
Year 11 Speed Interviewing

Students attend realistic one-to-one interviews based on a fictional job application before receiving constructive feedback from business volunteers.
Many students have never experienced an interview before, making this an invaluable opportunity to prepare them for future employment.

- Provide friendly, constructive feedback
- Help students improve their interview technique
- Encourage confidence and professionalism

Year 11 Employability Day
🕘 9:00am – 1:00pm
Our Employability Day provides students with everything they need to prepare for life after school.
Working alongside business professionals, students will take part in:
- CV preparation
- Mock interviews
- Assessment centre activities
- Team building exercises
- Employer feedback sessions
This immersive event gives students practical experience of recruitment processes while developing the skills employers are looking for.

Year 13 Business Breakfast
🕣 8:30am –11:30am
One of our most popular Sixth Form events.
Students interested in your sector are seated with you over breakfast, allowing relaxed, informal conversations about careers, apprenticeships, university, graduate routes and industry expectations.
Students choose which employers they would most like to meet beforehand, ensuring meaningful discussions throughout the morning.
Many students use this opportunity to secure work experience or valuable professional contacts.

- Offer careers advice and guidance
Breakfast and refreshments are provided.
Wednesday 11th November 2026
Milton Keynes Academy – Milton Keynes
Year 7 Theme Park Enterprise Day
🕘 9:00am –12:30pm
Help inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs during this fun, creative and highly interactive enterprise day. Working in teams, students design and build their own theme park while exploring careers within the entertainment and leisure industry.
Throughout the day, students develop essential employability skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, marketing, finance, negotiation, design, sponsorship and customer service. Business volunteers support and mentor teams, sharing their own workplace experiences and encouraging students to think creatively and commercially.
No experience within the leisure or theme park industry is required – volunteers from all sectors are warmly welcomed. Your business knowledge and encouragement are what make the day such a valuable experience for our students.
Tea, coffee, cakes, Danish pastries and savoury refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Help inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs during this fun, creative and highly interactive enterprise day. Working in teams, students design and build their own coffee shops while exploring careers within the hospitality industry.
Throughout the day, students develop essential employability skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, marketing, finance, negotiation, design, sponsorship and customer service. Business volunteers support and mentor teams, sharing their own workplace experiences and encouraging students to think creatively and commercially.
No experience within the hospitality industry is required (we have all had a coffee in a coffee shop) – volunteers from all sectors are warmly welcomed. Your business knowledge and encouragement are what make the day such a valuable experience for our students.
Tea, coffee, cakes, Danish pastries and savoury refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Throughout the day, students develop essential employability skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, marketing, finance, negotiation, design, sponsorship and customer service. Business volunteers support and mentor teams, sharing their own workplace experiences and encouraging students to think creatively and commercially.
No experience within the hospitality industry is required – volunteers from all sectors are warmly welcomed. Your business knowledge and encouragement are what make the day such a valuable experience for our students.
